Public Charge—INA § 212(a)(4)

An individual will be inadmissible for a visa or adjustment of status if he or she is “likely at any time to become a public charge.” To make such an assessment, immigration officers will consider the individuals: age, health, family status, assets, resources and financial status, education, and skills.
